Business Development Manager - Insurance

We are looking for a dynamic and engaging Business Development Manager who is looking for an opportunity to join an industry-leading Property & Casualty insurance carrier focused on partnering with Reinsurers, MGAs/Program Administrators, and Insurtechs.


We provide access to commercial and personal lines utilizing our admitted and non-admitted capabilities across all 50 states. You would join a deeply experienced and broadly talented operating team where your experience and drive will become instrumental in further growing our business.


The focus of this role is on:

  1. Strategic development of partnerships across all distribution channels
  2. Identification, targeting, and triaging of program opportunities
  3. Connection of diverse opportunities leveraging all of Transverse’s available assets
  4. Refine and build Transverse’s brand and messaging in our segment of operation


The role requires the ability to understand and factor corporate goals and objectives and independently prioritize activities that most effectively advance those goals.


Major Responsibilities are not limited to, but include the following:

  • Embodies responsive, clear communications and is commercial in negotiations with prospects, clients, and peers
  • Sources, targets, and triages program opportunities within established strategic economic, and risk tolerance thresholds
  • Responsible for opportunity identification/discovery and shepherding from the initial review through handoff to the due diligence team
  • Directs the strategic involvement and communication plans for/with Program Administrators, Reinsurance Brokers, Affinity Partners, Alternative Distribution Channels, and Industry Associations & Events
  • Collaborates to help implement an effective branding and corporate messaging strategy; represents the company at appropriate industry events
  • Collects and actively shares market intel with internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrates by actions a realization of rapid cycle time and an ability to work/process at a high level of performance



  • College degree, graduate degree, and/or industry recognition (ARe, CPCU, etc) preferred
  • Minimum 7-10 years experience with ideally a reinsurance or insurance broker; and/or a property and casualty (re)insurer; with demonstrated experience gained in a role with business development mantra
  • Client-centric mindset and focused on delivering superior service, solutions, and results
  • Excellent underwriting and reinsurance exposure and/or knowledgebase
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to rapidly synthesize data or “dots of information” from multiple sources to arrive at appropriate solutions
  • Decision making, problem resolution, and organizational skills that transcend levels within an organization
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills should be a given
  • Strong business acumen demonstrated through an accumulation of experience
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as well
  • Strong technical skills incorporating appropriate tools (spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint, other tools
  • Ability to travel as required to develop our pipeline and subsequently clients
